BACK IN THE WORLD!

Hey, I've returned from my sojourn into that other place just wouth of insanity, and am struggling to adjust. The air feels heavy here. Maybe that is because there is a lot of work ahead for this project. I need to contact so many people. But then isn't it the case that getting things done is always a chore until the end product lights upi your world?
IT IS! IT IS! IT IS!

Volume One Story Chosen

After much deliberation, hand wringing and more than a few sleepless nights Leyton has decidied which of his stories will have the honour of filling the very first edition of One Short Story To Be Told.

The story, 'Waiting for Life to return', is so excited at being chosen that when we approached it for a comment, they was nothing coherent on offer. But the trembling of it's pages, and the sheen on it's words did convey a joy only a few have ever known.

We congratulate 'Waiting for Life to Return" and look forward to the launch (which Leyton is keeping very close to his chest) where "Waiting For Life To Return' will no doubt be resplendent.

What it's all about

Imagine you are a story. You'd want to be heard, wouldn't you? You wouldn't want to be lying idle on a PC drive, or sat collecting dust on a shelf or in an attic. You'd want to live, forever.

But in this modern world stories find it increasingly difficult to be told. The age old practice of gathering around fires to relate tales of yore and now has all but dissappeared. Magazines are increasingly fussy. Writer's increasingly frustrated. They write the stories, try to find them a home, but are rejected time and time again. So the stories lye idle, their tiny hearts still beating, but drowned out in the chaos of the modern world.

But they still want to be heard. They still want to find someone that loves them, and then someone else, and someone else and...

One Short Story To Be Told gives stories a chance to be heard. And not just by one person! See I believe that editors and publishers aren't always right. I believe people want to hear as many stories as possible. I believe people want not just to read a story, but to share it too.

In essence I believe that humans are on the stories side.

So I am publishing a series of books that contain just ONE STORY. And I am publishing just ONE COPY OF EACH BOOK. I'm then sending the book out into the world, and I am asking those that receive the book to read the story, and then do what the story desperately wants you to do: PASS IT ON.

Don't keep it. Don't throw it on the shelf. Don't put it in the bin. Don't throw it under the bed - if you do that then that story dies. And that would be a tragedy. And we have enough tragedies in the world already.

Please keep the dream alive for our stories; PASS THE BOOK ON. PASS IT ON.
